CHICKENTOWN
SHORT FILM (2023)
Why Chickentown?
Our project’s goal is to raise awareness and bring attention to the flaws and gaps within systems that are meant to protect women by using our main character to show women that they can (and must) stand up for what they believe is right. It also demonstrates the psychological toll that loss can have on an individual, inspiring empathy and understanding.

Telling stories on a platform that reaches vast audiences, such as filmmaking, enhances the chances of impacting people with the messages we are trying to convey through our narrative and fictional escape into someone else’s world. Despite the darker themes, the film is about hope, strength, and resilience of womanhood. In essence, this film can leverage impact storytelling to shed light on systematic issues, generate empathy, provoke discussions, and motivate action, ultimately working toward positive change.
